History
Since 1963, at Restaurant Collsacreu we offer the most authentic Catalan cuisine in a unique setting. Located in a traditional farmhouse in Arenys de Munt, you can enjoy hearty breakfasts, meals made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, all accompanied by spectacular views.
Our story began more than 60 years ago when Joan Pagès, father of Josep Maria, had the dream of creating a restaurant in the mountains of Arenys de Munt. With great enthusiasm and hard work, he made this dream a reality, and thus, Restaurant Collsacreu was born. The cuisine was simple at the time, but over the years, it started to come to life, becoming a reference for authentic Catalan cuisine.
After the death of Joan Pagès, his son, Josep Maria, took over and became the leader in the kitchen, preserving traditional recipes while ensuring a strong commitment to local products. Can Campenny, his farm, became an essential source for preparing the dishes, providing the highest quality and freshness. Alongside his wife, Leonor Riera, who managed the dining room with great dedication, they successfully grew the business throughout the 1980s, consolidating it as one of the most beloved restaurants in the area.
Over time, the family tradition continued with the involvement of Susanna Pagès, the daughter of Josep and Leonor, who took charge of continuing the legacy and ensuring the restaurant continued to operate with the same passion and quality established by her parents. Today, the restaurant is run by the fourth generation, Jordi, who carries on the same work ethic and love for cooking that his ancestors have passed down.
Restaurant Collsacreu started as a small bar area, but over the years, it has expanded, adding two more dining rooms and a charming terrace offering panoramic views of both "Arenys".
